(Pro34)-NPY is a selective NPY agonist at Y1 or postjunctional receptors, as seen in a simultaneous study of post- and prejunctional actions in anesthetized rats and dogs. Like NPY, the analog increased blood pressure, but, in contrast, showed no inhibitory effects on cardiac vagal action.
