This synthetic peptide, corresponding to residues 196-215 of human Surfactant Protein A, modulates immune responses by suppressing LPS-induced TNF-α release in dendritic cells and enhancing bacterial phagocytosis. In vivo studies demonstrate its therapeutic potential, reducing infection severity and bacterial load in murine models of Pseudomonas aeruginosa pneumonia.
