2,5-Dihydroxyacetophenone (Quinacetophenone) is a bioactive small molecule with neuroprotective, anti-inflammatory, and anti-melanogenic properties. It modulates MAPK signaling, enhances bortezomib effects in myeloma cells, and inhibits tyrosinase, as demonstrated in vitro with B16 melanoma cells and in vivo in zebrafish and mouse models.
