Catumaxomab was administered intraperitoneally to patients with EpCAM-positive cancers and malignant ascites on days 0, 3, 7, and 10 at escalating doses of 10, 20, 50, and 150 μg, respectively. The treatment significantly prolonged puncture-free survival, reduced the number of EpCAM-positive tumor cells and VEGF levels in ascitic fluid, and enhanced the activation of CD4⁺ and CD8⁺ T cells .
