α-(Difluoromethyl)-DL-Arginine (RMI 71897) is an enzyme-activated, irreversible inhibitor of arginine decarboxylase. It has been used in vitro to study polyamine biosynthesis in bacteria and plant cells and has shown anti-trypanosomal activity in mammalian cell cultures and mouse infection models.
