Docos-1-ene

Docos-1-ene is a long-chain α-olefin with the molecular formula C₂₂H₄₄ and a molecular weight of 308.58. As the product of introducing an unsaturated bond at the 1-position of docosane, docos-1-ene features a reactive terminal double bond and a long hydrophobic chain in its molecular structure. The terminal double bond of docos-1-ene can participate in various reactions such as polymerization, hydroformylation, and oxidation, making it an important intermediate for the synthesis of surfactants, lubricants, specialty chemicals, and as a comonomer for linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE).
