Human IL-1 beta ELISA Kit

IL-1beta is a pro-inflamatory cytokine and is expressed by many cells including macrophage, NK cells, monocytes, and neutrophils. It belongs to the IL-1 family cluster that includes the IL-1a, and IL1-RN genes.The cytokine interleukin-1 beta(IL-1 ) is a key mediator of the inflammatory response.It is known to be the major endogenous pyrogen, inducing prostaglandin synthesis, neutrophil influx and activation, T-cell activation and cytokine production, B-cell activation and antibody production, and fibroblast proliferation and collagen production. It also promotes Th17 differentiation of T-cells. IL-1 beta and COVID-19:IL-1 beta is known to play a central role in Cytokine Release syndrome (CRS). Excess IL-1 beta causes a cytokine storm, increasing fatality in patients. It is considered a potential target for COVID-19 for therapy development.The ELISA kits are used for assessing the specific biomarker in samples analytes which may be serum, plasma and cell culture supernatant as validated with the kit. The kit employs a sandwich ELISA technique which leads to a higher specificity and increased sensitivity compared to conventional competitive ELISA kits which employ only one antibody. Double antibodies are used in this kit.
