Quercetin

SKU: orb1306219

Description

Quercetin is a natural flavonoid that acts as a SIRT1 activator and a PI3K inhibitor (γ, δ, β isoforms). It also functions as a heat shock protein (Hsp70/Hsp90) inhibitor, reducing exosome release, making it a valuable tool for research in aging, oncology, and inflammation in both cellular and animal models.

Bioactivity

Target IC50
PI3Kβ:5.4 μM|PI3Kγ:2.4 μM|PI3Kδ:3.0 μM
In Vivo
Quercetin inhibits TNF-induced LDH release, reduces EC-dependent adhesion of neutrophils to bovine pulmonary artery endothelial cells (BPAEC), and also suppresses DNA synthesis and cell proliferation in these cells. As a PI3K inhibitor (IC50=2.4 - 5.4 μM), quercetin strongly inhibits PI3K and Src kinases, moderately inhibits Akt1/2, and has a slight effect on PKC, p38, and ERK1/2.
In Vitro
In xenografts of human prostate cancer LNCaP and PC-3 cells, the combined administration of Quercetin (75 mg/kg) and 2-methoxyestradiol effectively inhibits tumor growth.
