Evodiamine

SKU: orb1304910

Description

Evodiamine is a bioactive alkaloid derived from the fruit of Evodia rutaecarpa, exhibiting anti-inflammatory, anti-obesity, and anti-tumor properties. It is widely used in pharmacological research, with studies demonstrating its efficacy in both in vitro cell-based assays and in vivo animal models for cancer and metabolic diseases.

Bioactivity

In Vivo
In U937 cells with overexpressed Bcl-2 and Akt, evodiamine induces apoptosis through a caspase-independent cell death pathway.
In Vitro
In mice, the LD50 of intravenously injected Evodiamine is 77 mg/kg.
Cell Research
Evodiamine is dissolved in DMSO and diluted with appropriate medium before use. The evodiamine-inspired new scaffolds are assayed for growth inhibitory activities toward human cancer cell-lines A549 (lung cancer), MDA-MB-435 (breast cancer) and HCT116 (colon cancer) using the MTT assay. Evodiamine and camptithecin are used as reference drugs.
